March 2013

Hello Readers,Click to download March 2013

Easter is at the end of the month, of course you can tell by the amount of chocolate eggs on the shop counters, continually tempting for those sweet tooth’s among us.

The Leukaemia Foundation’s world’s Greatest Shave is on again and we have two local entrants raising money. Nigel (from Yankalilla Trading Store) and Ann Marie (from South Coast Surf) are both holding fundraising functions. See page  32 for Nigel and page 33 for Ann Marie.

The Community Bus which has been running for five years has been cut from the Yankalilla Council’s budget. The last ride will be on 28th March.

Club YAM is back with an ‘open mic’ night on 16th March and monthly from there on. See page 15.

It seems last month’s letters motivated a few people to respond. These responses and a fresh batch of subjects are on pages12-14. Remember don’t shoot the messengers, these are the thoughts of the community and not the editor! Welcome back Rox Rosey for those who have missed her literary contributions. See page 18 for her long awaited return.

We say farewell to Chris St John, priest at Christ Church, Yankalilla. Chris, not unlike the Pope, has resigned from his position. He has been a regular contributor in his years at Yankalilla and his final article is on page 34. We wish Chris all the best for the future.

Until next issue...
